Company data is no longer tied to an office desk and a PC or even a bulky laptop. With the advent of new features in SQL Server 2016 Reporting Services, corporate data is available 24/7 and is as near as a smart phone or tablet and an internet connection.

With the Mobile Report Publisher in SQL Server 2016, users can design and create reports using an array of visual aids including charts, grids and gauges in order to maximize clarity and understanding. Reports are optimized for mobile devices and when finalized, data can either easily be imported from a local file or the user can connect to a report server.

The Microsoft Power BI apps allow employees to use a multitude of devices and operating systems to view and interact with the reports generated by Mobile Report Publisher. Smart phones, Apple watches, iPods, iPads, tablets --- all are compatible with Power BI apps. The Power BI app is available for the Apple iOS, Android operating systems and Windows 10 Mobile. Users can either access data through their Power BI dashboard or the SQL Server Reporting Services web portal.

Enterprise level configuration, management and control of security of the various devices and Power BI apps is available through integration with Microsoft Intune. Intune features include encryption of data when not in use, PIN access and controlling how the application uses data in order to ensure the integrity and security of vital corporate information.
